Pinehurst Country Club

A golf community for everyone.

Back in the 1960s, golf was a sanctuary for the elite, Walt Koelbel, Sr. saw it differently. He envisioned a place where everyone would feel comfortable – and one where you could actually live overlooking lush fairways and tee boxes. Motivated by that vision, Walt transformed farmland into the very first master-planned golf course community in the Rocky Mountain West.

From the very beginning, South Denver’s Pinehurst Country Club catered to a wide variety of people. Some of the state’s first condominiums, plus single- family homes and apartments ringed the course and clubhouse. The 18- and 9-hole courses reached beyond the moneyed class to welcome everyday middle management, workers and families. Now in its seventh decade of successful operation, Pinehurst Country Club boasts an inclusive community and down-to-earth vibe.

  • Region’s first golf course community
  • Farmland repurposed into 18- and 9-hole golf courses
  • Welcoming to everyone
  • Home to some of Colorado’s first lock-and-go patio homes
  • Features apartments, attached and single-family homes of various price points, designed for a wide variety of buyers

The Preserve at Greenwood Village

Country in the city.

In the 1990s, living in Denver often meant choosing between city and country. Koelbel and Company envisioned a better way: blending the best of both worlds into one of the area’s largest master-planned communities. The Preserve at Greenwood Village is designed around the land’s natural features. At the centerpiece of its rolling 600 acres lies 92 connected acres of natural open space, including a 60-acre nature preserve and wildlife habitat.

The Preserve’s residents, as well as families in the surrounding neighborhoods, cherish the community’s paths and hop-on access to the High Line Canal Trail, plus the wide-open, park- like feel that stems from the absence of perimeter fencing. Design guidelines thoughtfully safeguard architectural and landscaping aesthetics. The Preserve is an oasis in the heart of the Denver Tech Center and close to employment, services, restaurants and the area’s top public and private schools.

  • Colorado’s largest custom home community with 556 homes
  • Protects the land’s natural features with a 60-acre nature preserve
  • No fences for a wide-open, park-like feel
Today

Catalyst

Reimagining work.

We’re big believers in creative collaboration. Magic happens when like-minded innovators share workhouses, gathering spaces or even just a cup of coffee. Denver’s Catalyst, a transformational working environment, has proven that just being in the proximity of others who share a passion for the same field yields amazing ideas.

Catalyst jumbles together health industry creative thinkers in a unique space that serves as an epicenter for wellness enhancements. Flexible offices wrap around shared breakout rooms, lounges, kitchens, an expansive rooftop terrace and other areas designed for spontaneous interactions. Catalyst is a hive of innovation and collaboration among health pioneers from the private, academic, government and nonprofit sectors.

The idea has been so well received that Koelbel developed a sister Catalyst at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

  • Workplaces that bring together innovators within the same industry
  • Enhanced work environments with gathering areas for collaborating and creating
  • Workspaces of any size from single seats to entire floors
  • Aesthetically pleasing and amenity rich
