Platt Park and Harvard Gulch signify Koelbel’s entrance to the urban in-fill scene.

For over 50 years Koelbel had developed some of Colorado’s most attractive and successful residential real estate projects. Because of our commitment to community building through responsible development, Koelbel’s newest division, Koelbel Communities, was created to focus on designing and building homes right for Denver’s most exciting urban areas.

Platt Park and Harvard Gulch were chosen because of how sought-after the neighborhoods were. Koelbel constructed a series of single-family duplex homes in each location. As one of Colorado’s top home builders and real estate companies, the homes had to live up to our reputation. Thus, the homes in both neighborhoods were designed by Bernie Costello of BcDc Design, a passionate advocate for urban infill and sustainable building practices.

Platt Park featured two distinct floor plans designed to make the most of their respective spaces. Each home boasted four bedrooms, four or five baths, and a two-car garage. The new homes were then fitted with top-of-the-line finishes, adding a sense of modernity and complimenting the contemporary architecture. What really captured interested buyers was the private outdoor courtyard that each home had, creating precious outdoor space in such a central Denver location.

Harvard Gulch had four floor plans to choose from, each created to cater to different lifestyles. Each home had open spaces, three bedrooms, three baths, and a two-car garage. Additionally, just like the homes at Platt Park, each home offered an irresistible private outdoor courtyard.

Of course, it wasn’t just the homes that attracted buyers. Just beyond the doors of the new homes at both Platt Park and Harvard Gulch lies Old South Pearl Street, which frequently hosts events like music festivals and art walks, as well as offering many boutique shops and dining options. Also within walking distance is Washington Park, the perfect place for residents to enjoy a sunny stroll or bike ride.

Koelbel couldn’t have chosen a better location to venture into urban in-fill than through the newly built homes at Platt Park and Harvard Gulch. Since then, Koelbel Communities has grown to be one of the most sought-after urban home builders in Denver and Colorado.
