Koelbel and Company in Partnership with Buzze and Xcel Expand EV Charging Access in Denver’s Affordable Communities

DENVER, Colo.- Koelbel and Company in partnership with Buzze, Xcel,and the City of Denver came together to celebrate a major milestone in clean mobility—the installation of six new EV chargers at Sienna at Sloans Lake Apartments.

The event on October 23rd, marked the success of a unique public-private partnership that leverages Xcel Energy’s Commercial EV Infrastructure Rebate Program to bring equitable electric vehicle access to Denver’s affordable multifamily communities.

Mayor Mike Johnston, Koelbel and Company CEO Carl Koelbel, and representatives from Buzze and Xcel Energy joined local residents to cut the ribbon and celebrate the milestone.

“Clean, affordable transportation isn’t just a luxury—it’s essential to building a Denver that works for everyone,” said Mayor Johnston. “This collaboration between Buzze and Koelbel shows how we can make sustainability affordable and ensure every Denverite has the opportunity to drive electric.”

The partnership between Buzze and Koelbel will ultimately result in up to 240 new EV chargers, including 130 at affordable housing communities across the Denver metro area. Over the next year, the initiative will bring 100 new EV stations to eight additional affordable properties—reducing costs for working families and
advancing the city’s climate action goals.
