Kaiser Permanente plans to build a new health center at a health-tech innovation campus planned for Denver’s River North neighborhood.

The health insurer announced Thursday for the center at Catalyst HTI, which is scheduled to open in early 2018 on Brighton Boulevard.

Kaiser said its center will provide primary-care services. A physician assistant or nurse practitioner and licensed practical nurse will be on staff. Physicians also will rotate through and provide video consultations to patients, according to a release from the company.

The 300,000-square-foot Catlyst HTI will bring digital health start-ups and established health care entities under one roof.

Longtime Denver developer Koelbel and Co., health-tech entrepreneur Mike Biselli and landowners the Burgess family are collaborating on the development.

University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, Terumo BCT and the American Diabetes Association earlier announced plans to join the development.

The first phase of the project, billed as an “industry integrator,” is expected to open in early 2018 on Brighton Boulevard.

The exact form of CU Anschutz’s operations at Catalyst has yet to be announced.

Terumo BCT, a blood component and cellular technology company with global headquarters in Lakewood, will take 4,000 square feet but hasn’t yet decided what operations and how many employees will be based in the space, the spokeswoman said.

The diabetes association plans to move its regional West Division and Mountain Region offices to the digital-health campus, taking 6,000 square feet.
