Vail Cascade Village
In the mid-1960s, Vail, Colorado, was a small, emerging ski resort. Anticipating down-valley expansion, Walter Koelbel purchased prime streamside property at the foot of Vail Mountain, earmarking 18 acres for Cascade Village, an upscale town center anchored by Westin Hotels. Ideally located near Vail's westerly-most ski lift, Cascade Village provides a unique ski-in/ ski-out opportunity and includes the 320-room Cascade Club Hotel, the 65,000 square foot, state-of-the-art Cascade Club and a 425-car parking structure.
